I AM A POLIO STRICKEN ADULT. I can tell you first hand what it is like growing up different. Most important to instill a physically dificient child (I don't like the word "disabled") that he/she is different but can be have the same self confidence if not more about himself/herself. Parents and their loved ones play a very serious and important role to ensure that child gets the attention and yet train him or her to do things independently as well. Allowing space for self growth and making decisions on their own. Religion also plays a role. Believing in our Creator and knowing that it is that we are the strongest during our weakest moments.

I am blessed that I have instilled faith in God on my own. Growing up is tough and tougher still when your loved ones don't know how to help you.

When we lose something, we always have other things that will become stronger and better...... Know what I mean......
